One Room Challenge - Week 5 - Styling, Scale, and Working with What You Have

Thanks for stopping by to see what has been going on in my One Room Challenge. It has been a great week at Casa Chinoiserie Chic. My daughter and I finished a darling little DIY piece of furniture for each of our homes that we will be showing you shortly. The painter finished my office painting yesterday and the color (Benjamin Moore Poppy) is gorgeous. No snow here yet although they claim it is on the way. And my ORC powder room is turning into a little Chinoiserie jewel box. Click on the navy ORC button in my sidebar to review my progress. You have to see what I started with.

Things are moving right along in my powder room. I have started adding some great Chinoiserie accessories like this hand painted metal tray in gray and white stripes and fretwork holding a pair of gray marble foo dogs and a beautiful French Chinoiserie candle. Lots more too that I will save for the reveal!

I love the scale of the huge pair of gray ginger jars in this tiny powder room juxtaposed above this tiny sink. You can see that the mirror has also been hung. Still to come for the window is a beautiful custom window treatment.

Since I was stuck with using a basic boring toilet because of my small rough in (Linda will know what this means), I jazzed it up with a high gloss black toilet seat.

I didn't want to redo the black and white tile floor, but wanted to tone it down, so I found a nice little sisal rug bound in gray at Pottery Barn that works great.

The faux bamboo toilet paper holder with black toilet paper is up. So chic!

Now go see what everybody else has been busy doing -
